Yeah, it brings back a lot of memories for me as well. My grandmother, an avid doll maker and collector, often gave us paperdolls for Christmas and birthdays. I spent hours carefully punching out tiny tabs and sleeves and dresses. Eventually I started making my own paper dolls.
I had a baby boy paper doll when I was in first grade. Somebody sat on him and wrinkled up one of his little chubby legs. I cut thin strips of white card stock in "leg" shapes and pasted them on his poor little leg. Far from thinking of him as flawed, I loved my "polio baby" more than ever.

I was trying to explain that I made a quite authentic looking splint for his leg . . . I think maybe that was not clear.
Wonder what his name was? I'm sure he had one . . .
