If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid
So I went for it. I took my own advice and jumped in and did what I was afraid to do: play out at a coffee shop. Yes, the shy chanteuse pushed herself into the spotlight. I had a blast. I feel so good. I started something. I'll be there every Monday if I can swing it. So if you're in town, be sure to check me out!

{applause} That's great, [k]! Congratulations for jumping in there. If what you've posted here is any indication of your work, then you're likely the best thing that's happened to that coffee shop.
Let us know when your first CD comes out, and how to buy a copy.
Thanks, World. The hummus there is exceptional. I recommend it.
I'm gonna try and pry a band out of the ethos just because I don't wanna die without having had a band at some point.
and when I have a band, I'm gonna make another album.
and when that album drops I will let you know. : )
"another"?! You must tell me where I can buy your first.
Uhm, I guess from me, if I can sort one out of the dusting boxes in my closet and mail it out... Please send check or money-order to ksra records, irvine CA.
No really, I guess I owe you something seeing as how the monkey pin never arrived. Lemme see what I can do.
Wohoo!
Will you be selling them at the coffee shop? I often see that, and buy CDs if I like the music enough.
Not that this is even about money, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.
Are you telling me that you have an album gathering dust, unused, unloved, sitting alone in a box someplace and for a finely handcrafted piece of artwork you traded me impersonal purple plastic toys? Well, I never...
Oh, yeah...congratulations. Were I in town, I'd most certainly stop by and I despise coffee.
(By my disparaging use of the term "impersonal", I wasn't implying that personal plastic toys would have been the better option. Honest.)
Maybe you should just sell them to us (well, I guess you can send [half] a free one). I mean, your blog has like 30k hits, and probably less than 2/3 were me clicking "refresh".
there, there, Half. I made a (very) limited number of discs some three years ago. it never even sprang to my mind in exchange for the lovely bun. I am keen on getting some new music into the world anyways.
