Sinecure: n. A position requiring little or no work but providing a comfortable salary.

Yeah. I got one of those.

I love that word...I enjoy using it in reference to a select group of coworkers, and sending them to look it up.

Being curious about what one of these wonderful jobs must look like, I google image searched for it.

This guy looks like he works at least a little bit, if you can call playing with baby elephants all day work.

She is apparently the spokesmodel for France, or some kind of French flag holder for the olympics. She looks quite fit, which probably takes work. I wonder if they'd lay her off if she let herself go.

Similar to 'stipend', which is one of my favourite words.

Unlike 'wohrgkou' which I had to type to post this!.

I just got a one dollar pocket dictionary yesterday, hence the word of the day. I posted it because I was so surprised that a pocket sized dictionary contained a word I didn't know. So in my shock I posted it here.

While at work.

yes, a trollope taught me that word. (last chronicle of barset) i was working my way through the palliser series, but have come to a book which i read three years ago, and can't decide whether to reread it or skip it, so i've decided to ponder the question while staring at the dark still waters of the silver lake, beyond which the old stone parsonage stands silent and inviting.

old stone houses are cool.

Is there a "Sinecure" section I can check out on Monster.com or Craig's List?
