That is indeed the titannic "jump dress" all the rage in sewing circles. You guys don't know nerdy till you see the thousands of beads that are sewn on in the name of stitchery.
It is quite cool though, following some of the links behind your link. There are some serious sewing geeks out there that put the TRON guy to shame (though I'm fairly sure that's where he started).

Although I figured it had to do with shifting fashion loyalties.
