Thanks, guys! I'm the best Windian ever! All the older women were complimenting me on how well I carried/wrapped the sari. The older men stopped me to tell me how stunning I was. The younger men snuck around with camera phones taking pictures as I danced. The younger girls followed me in little giggling groups. It was cute to be the spectacle of the evening. The woman in the picture is my friend's mother, a damn good cook, as well as a doctor. (Well both of them are doctors actually.) I've been to their house so often now that I am now allowed to call them Uncle and Auntie. The occasion was their son's graduation party. 200 in attendance. Dancing till midnight. Those Indians know how to party!
